SAP NetWeaver Portal has a week spot – and not an insignificant one! The portal lack the most obvious functionality; True Web Content Management. Since the launch of first Enterprise Portal (version 5, released 2001), have customers tried implementing Enterprise-wide portals based on the architecture. They failed, since there was no good way in managing web-content; such as formatted text, images, multimedia and Flash. They failed because they couldn’t provide HR, Corporate Communication, Marketing and departments the right tools to publish articles, news, product information and sites. Even today – after the launch of the most recent version of “Web Page Composer” tells our customers “Not even close to our expectations”.
